In 2020, McKay opened its first permanent branch in the South Island, servicing the Queenstown Lakes District, and wider Otago region.
McKay’s history in the South Island dates back to the mid-1970s when it was awarded the electrical construction work for the aluminium smelter in Bluff.
Over the next 40 years, McKay successfully executed several projects, leading to a significant six-month LED project in 2019. This project laid the groundwork for establishing a permanent branch, following the award of a long-term street lighting maintenance contract with the Queenstown Lakes District Council (QLDC).
As a reliable partner, McKay brings 30 years of experience in the infrastructure industry to the Otago region, leveraging knowledge gained from its eight existing streetlight contracts with local councils throughout the North Island.
McKay Queenstown is equipped with the knowledge and skill to support essential infrastructure throughout the region.
